What are Poles saving on in relation to inflation?

Over the last three years, the HoReCa (Hotel/Restaurant/Cafe) industry has had to contend with various challenges, and the end of 2023 could be exceptionally tough for this sector.
A cyclical PMR survey monitoring the impact of inflation on consumer behavior shows that in July 2023, ordering food for delivery, dining out, and going “out on the town” for the first time in the history of the survey, jumped to the top category of products on which Poles cut expenses when prices rise. This was also repeated in the August survey. Previously, spending on dining ranked second, after alcohol and beverages.
These consumer indications are not surprising. According to PMR data, after a dynamic increase in the inflation of catering services in 2022, it will remain at a very high level of about 15% YoY in 2023.
