Evaluation of the economic climate by renovation and construction companies at the lowest level since 2012
The sharp decline in the Construction Business Sentiment Index PMR for the construction chemicals industry, along with very positive statistics for volumetric construction, make it difficult to give a clear assessment of the previous year.
Market size of construction chemicals
According to a survey conducted among several hundred construction and renovation companies, as well as an analysis of data conducted for the report “Construction Chemicals Market in Poland 2021. Market Analysis and Development Forecasts for 2021-2026,” the past year, 2020, brought an acceleration in the market growth dynamics, which is directly related to the favorable situation in the residential construction market.
This growth is primarily driven by an increase in the surface area of residential buildings (both single and multi-family), being put into use. We expect that this surface area will only increase slightly in 2021. However, in combination with other factors, this will help to maintain slight growth in most segments of the construction chemicals industry in 2021.
Meanwhile, despite the good situation in the construction market, we have seen a significant decrease in the Construction Business Sentiment Index PMR for the construction chemicals industry. This is due to the uncertain situation related to the coronavirus and generally more cautious responses from respondents – a large percentage of neutral opinions, low values reported for employment, projected financial situation, and order values. Such low readings have not been seen in almost a decade.

RANKING - leading construction chemicals manufacturers
According to a survey conducted by PMR specifically for the report among construction and renovation companies, Weber and Mapei are the best-rated brands of construction chemicals products. While Mapei has usually been in the top tier of our rankings, the Weber brand, part of the Saint-Gobain Group, has made significant progress compared to the previous edition. Knauf, which previously held the top position, ranked third in the ranking. For the third consecutive time, the ranking concludes with the Tytan brand, which is backed by the company Selena. Despite its last position, it received better ratings than two years ago.
