Analysis of Poland’s regional potential in the context of the aggregates market

For one of the largest aggregate producers, the PMR team conducted a market analysis of aggregates in Poland at the regional level, identifying the regions with the highest potential.

Project objectives

The objective of the project was to provide insights into the regional differentiation of the Polish aggregate market. This information enabled the client to better plan development strategies and investments to maximize market participation in the future while minimizing logistical costs.

Project details

The project involved analyzing and forecasting nearly 300 time series—almost 20 for each province. Each indicator was closely related to the aggregate market and reflected the scale of potential in that region.

These indicators were then utilized in a PMR-developed attractiveness index. This tool objectively aggregates large data sets into a single indicator that directly answers the question of where the potential of the analyzed market is the greatest. The index is based on a well-established linear ordering method used in business.

Project results

The client received a report that concretely summarized the conducted analysis and developed forecasts, and presented the results of the calculated regional attractiveness index in a precise and readable manner.

Additionally, the report identified the strengths and weaknesses of each region and provided basic information about each, ensuring easy comprehension. The report directly answered the question of which regions in Poland should be areas of critical interest for the client.
